Mortal Kombat X has tons of polish, unique mechanics, and the genre’s best story mode, but it doesn’t do enough to keep players invested if they weren’t already planning on it. Mortal Kombat is many things: a gaming industry icon, a fighting genre mainstay, and really, really bloody. And entrails. Possibly a spleen. But underneath all the gory excess is a damn good fighting game, one that balances mechanical depth with crowd-pleasing presentation. Though it doesn’t always do the best job of preparing you for battle, Mortal Kombat X is enough outrageously violent fun to justify a little self-education, provided you’ve got enough patience. If you’ve taken your lumps in Mortal Kombat 9 or Injustice, MKX will feel familiar: 3D fighters brawl on a 2D plane at a fast, unrelenting pace, with plenty of special moves, flashy combos, and bone-splintering X-Ray attacks being traded back and forth. The somewhat stiff lateral movement and blocking via a button instead of backing away from your opponent can initially feel strange if you’re typically a Street Fighter person, but any discomfort will fade away after a few matches and some trips to the pause screen, which smartly displays both players’ special move inputs right up front.

This is also the first Mortal Kombat game I’ve ever put any real time into, I know this doesn’t help your match making issues but it will help you.
I’ve yet to complete the massive Steam download, and now it seems others may want to wait it out as well. Despite patches and fixes the game is still very broken. First hand accounts from friends and users have reported issues mainly relating to lag, but these were brushed off as “you’re probably playing on European servers from South Africa Here’s a list of some of the more common issues with the game.
Online is basically unplayable due to the memory leaks and the lag. It’s been two weeks since the game launched, we got a 15GB patch yes you read that right 15GB which didn’t really improve anything, instead it caused more bugs.

to earning the Dropping Fools achievement in Mortal Kombat X by N1NJ4. No idea what the problem could be my nat is open and everything. Like almost every aspect of this game, the matchmaking is purely inferior to its predecessors.
I like fighting games a lot, but I am terrible at them. This is also the first Mortal Kombat game I’ve ever put any real time into, so I’m still not super with it, so to speak. Given that this is on the popular end of fighting games, I imagine that there are a fair number of relatively casual players like myself who are playing online. I think it might match by player level, but since all my XP was gained through story mode and fucking around it’s completely irrelevant to how I will perform against human players.
All it does is ensure that I never want to play this game online, which is pretty sad because I could see myself getting into it otherwise. Also no one gets good at anything without practice and fighting games take a lot of it, youtube is your best friend for learning combos. I know this doesn’t help your match making issues but it will help you continue playing, and the more you play the more matches you’ll end up winning.
Also you can go into lobbies I believe and challenge people through the chat lobby after seeing their records. Maybe playing some people in there will get you trained up for ranked and king of the hill. The matchmaking providing it’s actually working definitely seems to match up people who really shouldn’t be playing each other quite often. And that’s just in the most popular modes as well 1v1 ranked and unranked.
The matchmaking does seem to be a bit off. The limited pool of people online at a time is probably a factor in that, but I should suspect that there should be many more players online due to the popularity of this game.
so… i cant find a match online.. used to work just fine?
NetherRealm Studios is releasing a new patch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of fighting game Mortal Kombat X today that makes numerous gameplay fixes and character-specific changes. The patch will roll out for Xbox One sometime later. issue when inviting my friend to play Mortal Kombat X (private match, in Halo MCC matchmaking – this is why I’m led to believe the problem.
Fighting games can be tough to get into. As the team behind one of the most popular fighting-game series around, NetherRealm is well-aware of the impediments some players have to getting into them. It just seems super-daunting just even thinking approaching trying to learn how to play a fighting game. It’s very similar to fighting games. NetherRealm wants players to have a decent grasp of the game before they get there, however. Instead, Edwards points to the other ways NetherRealm gets players to invest in fighting games: By giving them lots of content that just happens to involve playing and improving at the game itself.

Mortal Kombat 11 currently has a ‘Mostly Negative’ user rating on Steam , with positive reviews and negative reviews at the time of writing. A controversial Mortal Kombat game? It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. In a sampling of the positive reviews you’ll find praise for the tutorials they’re great , campaign, and general fighting system. The reasons for the bad reviews include anger over microtransactions and the late PC launch, disappointment over the graphics, technical problems such as crashing, and, in some cases, “political correctness” with regards to some of the character designs.
In short, they’re mad that they don’t personally find the women in the game sexier, and can be ignored. As more reviews trickle in, the response will probably balance out a bit more. Those who experience crashing are more likely to express discontent immediately than someone analyzing the fighting systems before dropping an opinion.

GGPO short for Good Game Peace Out is middleware designed to help create a near- lagless online experience for various emulated arcade games and fighting games. The program was created by Tony Cannon, co-founder of fighting game community site Shoryuken and the popular Evolution Championship Series. Video game companies have also implemented a licensed version of GGPO. Rather than waiting for input to be received from other players before simulating the next frame, GGPO predicts the inputs they will send and simulates the next frame without delay using that assumption.

Killer Instinct is now finally available on PC, and players all over the world are finally able to enjoy this excellet fighting game even without an Xbox One console. Kombatants, we’re aware of the matchmaking issues in Faction Wars and are actively investigating them. We will update Mortal Kombat X Mobile. App Page.
Mortal Kombat X is a pretty good fighting game. I have a few problems with it; most notably the weird dial-a-combos and perpetual, over-powerful juggles — but those are my problems, not problems with the game itself. The game does have problems though, especially on PC. I warned against getting the PC version. The developer responsible, High Voltage, is notorious for making bad ports of games — to a point where Konami had to hire another developer to fix one of its bad ports.
And despite a 15GB patch to the PC version of Mortal Kombat X, users still report a plethora of issues that sometimes make the game borderline unplayable.
Resident Evil Resistance Beta Delayed for Some Due to Matchmaking Issues
I’ve been playing MKX and enjoying it quite a lot. Like I think I sat there literally for 5 minutes searching for a match and nothing came up. I’ve also tried the chat rooms but have had little success in getting a match that didn’t have a bunch a latency. All I can offer is that Ed Boon tweeted that they know there are issues and they are working on them. Seems to suggest server load is part of it at least.
I haven’t had issues finding games except for the faction 5v5 fights, the big issue is what happens when I’m in game.
Enter NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat X. All I can say is I found that matchmaking was relatively fast and that lag wasn’t really a problem.
The series needed a shake up, and the remake – Mortal Kombat 9 – was everything fans expected and more. The gameplay was returned to a 2D plane with 3D graphics, the combat system was simplified but retuned, and an extensive story mode filled with great cutscenes marked the debut of something that had never been done before in a fighting game. Mortal Kombat X builds on top of that previous game’s foundations, with improvements across the board.
The story mode is set several years after the events of Mortal Kombat, with the focus on a new generation of fighters having to tackle problems arising between Earthrealm and the Outworld. The story is quite extensive for a fighting game, and it’s told through fantastic over the top sequences which are full of the black humour for which the series is well known. The sequences, plus a few QTEs, run between fights. In story mode you’ve no choice who to play as, the game tracking one warrior for a spell before changing focus on someone else and their part in the story.
The intention is mainly to introduce you to the roster and the different fighting techniques on offer. It’s a smart move to get players at least familiar with the range of fighters MKX has.
